Growing up in a large family, you learn to cherish what you have
and create what you are unable to afford.
When it comes to personal possessions, I’m very much a minimalist. Fabric, on the other hand, has a way of luring me in and inspiring a slew of projects. I’m not ashamed to admit that I own more fabric than clothes. So many textures, patterns, colors and prints…as a designer, it’s one of my favorite art mediums. And I don’t stop at the fabric store. Oh no. My obsession has spilled over into pretty much any textile that grabs my attention. Need further evidence? I recently transformed ordinary tea towels (a $5 purchase) into a simple pillow cover. Not the first time, and probably not the last.
