As we prep our home to put on the market, I can’t help but tackle a few last minute projects. The entryway to our home might be the last space left untouched by our DIY hands. Over the past 11 years, Michael and I replaced wood molding throughout, almost all lighting fixtures, installed flooring throughout, replaced windows, installed a pool, finished the basement/added a porch (with the help of Roger–best contractor ever), installed a stone walkway and landscaping, installed over 400 feet of fence (go Michael), extended the pool deck, had a new driveway put in, installed bathroom tile (while I was 6 months pregnant), replaced vanities & new kitchen cabinets…you name it, we happily did it. My idea to makeover this space came to me as I envisioned potential buyers entering our home. As they make their way over the stone walkway (one that Michael and I put in over the summer), I cringed at the thought of our once cold entryway. This space needed to connect the outdoors to the indoors. When we eventually leave our first home, I can only hope that the new owners enjoy the fruits of our labor.
